Yes, I know this is a big swing from yesterday’s post on ongoing Thai anti-government protests.

I’m not normally one for the tourist-focused videos, but this little documentary by German public broadcaster DW focuses on some absolute gems of Bangkok, with level narration and interviews and beautiful drone footage. It really gets you a sense for the sheer scale and density of the city.

They also touch on a serious environmental problem the city faces – Bangkok is sinking. So far the solution has been to pave things higher, but once sea level rise really starts to get worse with climate change, it feels like there’s a big risk to Bangkok as a whole.
