For July, I’m headed back to Africa! This month I’ll be learning more about Togo. What do I already know about Togo?

Unfortunately not much – I know it’s in West Africa, next to Ghana, and that it was a French colony – so French is still used as an official language and as a lingua franca. That’s about it! This is really highlighting how poor my education has been on sub-Saharan Africa; I also knew next to nothing going in when I covered Mozambique a few months ago.

Time to get learning!
