I was looking through Israeli music videos (especially those with English lyrics), and Israel’s reputation for being a robust democracy is evident – there’s a lot of politics in popular songs, and they’re from very different viewpoints. I figured I’d contrast two of the most disparate songs I found: Hachi Israeli (Most Israeli) by Hatikva 6, which could double for a tourism advert, vs. Misparim (Numbers) by Hadag Nahash, an immensely sharp and critical protest.
